Rainy day baking.

The weather turned nasty this morning so our new Market turned out to be a non event. Pity really because the location was a very pretty one alongside a lovely flowing river and great parkland. Also, I had been awake since 5am this morning, specifically with the Market in mind!

Not to worry! When a change of plan is called for and the weather is not conducive to gardening adventures, I usually find something new, delicious and fun to make in the kitchen.

The result.....a beautifully moist and rich apricot, raisin and date fruit cake!

New designs with added patina.

I've been venturing out of my comfort zone lately and trying different effects on my fine silver work using various patinas.
So far I have played with verdigris, patina, cinnabar, Inca gold, copper and antique brass. Some of the finished results can be seen below. I've thoroughly enjoyed this small adventure and plan to continue my journey into exploring colour and effects.
