Silver bling!

Thought I might showcase a few silvery 'bling' items hot off my workbench recently. I love working with fine silver and a touch of rhinestone sparkle often goes a long way!

Wrap away those winter chills!

I've been busy knitting different styles of scarves and neck warmers/cowls over the last few weeks trying to find ways to keep those freezing winter winds away.
I love using different types of yarn in wonderful shades and textures and have loved the results thus far.
What do you think?

Outdoors!

Now that my potting shed is up and ready to go, I thought the poster below was quite an apt message.

I see this message each time I enter the glasshouse. One can and must try!

Potting Shed/Glasshouse Week 6

I have a new potting shed/glasshouse!

Construction is complete, shelving, bench surfaces, propagating tray, storage racks, potting up area and even running water with a deep trough are all ready and waiting to be used!

Apart from having some difficulty sourcing a decent quantity of perlite for propagation, all systems are now ready to roll. Tools and gardening bits and bobs are already starting to find their new home.

Very happy gardener here......can you tell?

Potting Shed/Glasshouse Week 4

Another productive week working on the potting shed construction. The weather has been very kind to us and though very cold, not wet or extremely windy.

This week the cladding of the shed was erected(almost complete) and comprises weathertex boards and colorbond steel, all salvaged materials from the house construction. The framework for the glass panels was also erected. Most of this construction will be made from the reclaimed materials left after our major build.

The potting shed is starting to feel more enclosed now and less open to the weather. The roof is half colorbond steel and half laser light sheeting(new).

Potting Shed....Week 3

A very productive week and things are starting to really take shape!
Two loads of 10mm stones were ordered and laid for the base of the shed. They feel so good underfoot! The frame has gone up and with great dexterity and a little fear! Trev and I have managed to start installing the roof trusses. Wild winds were forecast for the weekend so we managed to erect and stabilise a few trusses by Friday afternoon. Fingers crossed they will remain in place for Monday!!

My little potting shed/glass house is really starting to evolve!

Potting shed Week 2

Another week has come and gone and Trev has managed to complete the brick footings for my potting shed/glasshouse. The weather has been kind for his endeavours, cold but dry and often sunny.

The foundation is now laid!

New potting shed/glass house

Having finally moved to our Acreage in Heathcote, Central Victoria, built our dream home and endeavoured to become actively involved in our new community, Trev has finally reached the next major project on his very long 'To Do 'list......my potting shed/glass house!

I have decided to record its development and progress because this is certainly a labour of love, sweat  and excitement.

Photos of the stages in development will be taken weekly, Friday afternoon, regardless of how much is achieved during the week.

Week One:

First row of brick footings laid!
